An Excellent Tool.
"Foreign tools appears to have an edge on American-made ones because they use very good hardwoods and brass fittings. Both German and French-made tools are an asset not only in their use but in their future value. Such tools are rare due to electronic ones that have largely replace them."

wonderful tool. . a little pricey
"wonderful tool. . a little pricey but very nice quality!"
The Brace is worth the price.
"I needed a hand brace to drill holes in a very delicate situation. I began investigating the available braces on the market and realized very quickly the options were limited. I picked this one because of the positive reviews. I was able to drill the needed holes without damaging the frame of an antique chair. The way this tool is built; I am sure someday it will pass to my son and then eventually to my grandson."
French traditional brace
"This French Traditional Brace takes me back through time when my great great grandfather was a furniture maker. This is one classic time piece that i will be using in my wood working business. Personally I'm not a user of modern tools. I will be using this today on two projects that I'm ready to start."
Didn’t work right out of the box.
"I really like the look and materials but both ratchet pawls didn’t fully seat and would click over with a little torque. I had to use a punch and seat the pawl in each socket for it to even be usable as a brace."
Basically perfect - beautiful and a joy to use
"Can't recommend this brace enough. I usually don't leave reviews, but this is such an obscure item and unknown company. . . I really wanted to say something for anyone else looking for a quality brace. I love it and am excited to use it every time I pick it up. Also, if you like hand tools but have never used a traditional brace - you really need to try it. It's shocking how effective and fast these things are. . . I really don't understand how they've fallen so far out of fashion. I like hand tools and am of course biased, but I honestly think this this is better and faster at boring large holes than my power drill with the same bits. (I would not say the same thing about - say - ripping with a hand saw, VS a table saw. . . or even crosscutting)."
Q&A
- Can you use traditional tapered end auger bits with this brace?
- Michael, yes works well . Thank you.
